2008 GASB Support Fee Program

Fact Sheet


  • Mail program started in 2006

  • Voluntary

  • One of several initiatives aimed at spreading the cost of funding the GASB across the full spectrum of the GASB’s constituency

  • Directed to issuers of audited financial statements who follow generally accepted accounting principals (GAAP) established by the GASB

  • Administered by the Financial Accounting Foundation, the oversight body of the GASB and the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB)

  • Utilizes the Federal Audit Clearinghouse database, an electronic repository of annual single audits operated by the U.S. Census Bureau and publicly available on the Internet (see http://harvester.census.gov/sac/)

  • Incorporates a three-tier voluntary assessment approach linked to the threshold of federal award programs as identified on the database

  • Payments in support of the GASB may be made by check or credit card

  • Credit card payments can be made online or by telephone at 203-956-5287
