Project Manager—Private Company
Responsibilities:
- Project lead and/or project team member for projects on the FASB and Private Company Council’s (PCC) agenda, from initial research, through agenda decision and issuance of a final Accounting Standards Update;
- Contributing a private company perspective to other projects on the FASB’s active agenda, including helping to ensure appropriate constituent outreach;
- Actively contributing to our efforts to grow our list of private company contacts and improve our various means of reaching private company audiences, including doing occasional speeches;
- Actively involved in our private company advisory groups.
Qualities:
- Well-organized, able to multitask, meet established project plan objectives and timetables Broad technical accounting skills (sound generalist)
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong communication skills (written and oral)
- Demonstrated leader who exhibits intelligence, creativity, and ability to think strategically
Background:
- CPA with a minimum of 7-9 years of relevant experience working with private companies, with at least a few of those years in public accounting and has a track record of managing projects and leading/coaching a team of individuals
- Some direct industry experience with one or more private companies a major plus
- Some experience with public companies (either in industry or public accounting) a definite plus
