Comprehensive Implementation Guide Update
Primary Objective: The objective of this project is to update the Comprehensive Implementation Guide for the effects of new pronouncements and for additional issues that have come to the attention of the staff.
Status: A draft of the project staff's proposed additions, deletions, and edits for the 2008-2009 update was distributed to the project's advisory committee in March 2008. The comment deadline was April 14, 2008. After discussion and minor modifications, including the elimination of certain proposed questions, changes for the update were cleared by the Board at the May meeting.

Comprehensive Implementation Guide Update—Project Plan
Project Description: This project will update the Comprehensive Implementation Guide for the effects of new pronouncements and for additional issues that have come to the attention of staff.
Background: To date, the GASB staff has issued 11 stand-alone Implementation Guides, which have been consolidated into the Comprehensive Implementation Guide. The guide is updated annually through the addition of new questions and answers and the amendment or deletion of previous questions and answers that no longer are relevant due to subsequently issued guidance or to the passage of time.

Minutes of Meeting, May 21-23, 2008
The Board reviewed proposed staff updates, including new questions and answers and edits to previously issued questions and answers, for inclusion in the 2008–2009 edition of the Comprehensive Implementation Guide. After discussion and minor modifications (including the elimination of certain proposed questions), changes for the update were cleared by the Board.
